Tatlong Memoranda of Understanding at Isang Letter of Intent, nilagdaan sa pagitan ng Pilipinas at Brunei sa state visit ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

Sinaksihan nina Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. at His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah ang paglagda sa tatlong memoranda of agreement (MOUs) at isang letter of intent (LOI) sa pagitan ng Pilipinas at Brunei.

Ito ay patungkol sa pagpapalakas sa tourism cooperation sa pagitan ng dalawang bansa, Mutual Recognition of Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW) certificates; at maritime cooperation.

Nilagdaan din ang LOI para i-renew ang Memorandum of Understanding on Food Security and Agricultural Cooperation.

Nilagdaan ang MOU sa Tourism Cooperation sa pagitan ng Department of Tourism (DOT) at Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism (MPRT) of Brunei Darussalam,

Sa bilateral meeting ng dalawang lider, sinabi ni Pangulong Marcos kay Sultan Bolkiah na palalakasin pa ang bilateral cooperation ng dalawang bansa.

“And for that, we hope to expand the partnerships that we have begun and we feel that there is much potential that we can examine,” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.

“I think the MOUs that are being signed today that we shall witness, Your Majesty, will be a very good start to once again re-energize, and I think the areas that we have talked about – that we have paid attention to for these MOUs are certainly rich with potential,” dagdag ng Pangulo.

Sinabi naman ni Sultan Bolkiah na Binigyang halaga ang economic ties at people-to-people exchange.

“Your state visit today is customary to our two countries to continue the friendship and ties. That’s clear as we celebrate the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations. I believe that we are commemorating this significant occasion through visits,” pahayag ng Sultan.

“I’m looking forward to further enhancing our friendship in areas of future interest, which I believe will greatly benefit our countries and people,” dagdag ng Sultan.
