Security assessments sa Metro Manila schools suportado ng NCRPO
Suportado ng National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) ang pagbuo ng Joint School Safety Task Force na magsasagawa ng site-specific security audits ng mga pampublikong paaralan sa buong bansa.
Sinabi ni NCRPO Officer-in-Charge Police Brigadier General Christopher Abrahano na ang lokalidad na seguridad at threat assessments ay mahalaga dahil ang mga paaralan ay magkakaiba ng mga kapaligiran, kahinaan, at mga alalahanin sa seguridad.
“We support the conduct of localized and site-specific security assessments of schools in the National Capital Region. Each school has its own circumstances, and our security measures must be responsive to the actual conditions on the ground,” sabi ni PBGen. Abrahano.
Inihayag pa ni Abrahano na magbibigay siya ng direktiba sa Metro Manila police commanders na makipagkoordinasyon sa Department of Education-NCR, school administrators at local government units sa pag-aassess sa seguridad sa paaralan, tukuyin ang mga kahinaan at palakasin ang preventive measures.
Kabilang sa mga mungkahing direktiba ang pagsasagawa ng school-specific threat at security assessments; pagpapalakas ng police visibility sa kasagsagan ng mga kritikal na oras sa eskuwelahan; pagrebyu ng emergency and rapid-response arrangements; pagtatayo ng direktang communication channels sa mga school officials; pagpapaganda ng threat monitoring at early reporting; at pagdodokumento ng mga epektibong gawi para sa posibleng pagsasagawa nito sa Metro Manila.
“We want every assessment to answer a simple question: What does this particular school need to become safer, and what can the police and our partner agencies do about it?” pahayag ni PBGen. Abrahano.
“The safety of our students is a shared responsibility. NCRPO is ready to work with DepEd, local governments, school authorities, parents and our communities to prevent threats before they escalate and to ensure that every learner in Metro Manila can go to school in a safe and secure environment,” dagdag pa ng opisyal.
Ang inisyatibong ito ni NCRPO ay nakahanay sa magaang panawagan ni PNP Chief General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. para sa mas malakas na school security.
Sinusuportahan din ni BGen. Abrahano ang maagang anunsyo ni Nartatez na ang PNP ay maaaring pag-aralan at gayahin ang best practices mula sa mga kapitbahay na bansa sa pagtugon sa mga karahasan at banta laban sa mga paaralan at estudyante.
“We are open to learning from effective practices elsewhere, particularly those that adapt to our laws and the realities of our communities. Our priority is prevention—identifying risks early, strengthening coordination, and ensuring that police and other responders are prepared when our students need protection,” wika ni BGen. Abrahano.
