Higit P1M na halaga ng misdeclared medical devices nakumpiska ng Customs

Kinumpiska ng Bureau of Customs – Port of Cebu ang dalawang 40-foot containers na may lamang mga medical devices na tinatayang mahigit isang milyong piso ang halaga.

Ang halos 79,000 regulated medical devices ay idineklara na “water purifier tube” at “bag.”

Isinailalim sa 100 percent physical examination ang shipment at doon natuklasan na naglalaman ito ng libu-libong peritoneal dialysis drainage bags, sterile disposable intravenous infusion and administration sets, at hemodialysis blood tubing sets.

Dahil regulated medical devices ang mga ito, dapat ay may kaakibat itong mga requirement mula sa Food and Drug Administration.

Inisyuhan ng Warrant of Seizure and Detention ang mga kargamento dahil sa paglabag sa Customs Modernization and Tariff Act at FDA laws. (DDC)
