Plano ng UST na magsagawa ng face-to-face classes para sa medical at allied health programs inaprubahan ni Mayor Isko Moreno

Inaprubahan ni Manila Mayor Isko Moreno ang plano ng University of Santo Tomas (UST) na makapagsagawa ng limited face-to-face classes para sa medical at allied health programs.

Ito ay matapos ang pakikipagpulong ni Moreno sa mga opisyal ng UST ngayong araw ng Miyerkuels, February 3.

Tinalakay kung paanong mapapairal ang health and safety protocols, maima-manage ang occupancy capacity, at maipatutupad ang contingency plans kung mayroong estudyante, faculty o staffers na makikitaan ng COVID-19 symptoms.

Sa ilalim ng joint memorandum circular ng Commission on Higher Education (CHED) at ng Department of Health (DOH) ang higher educational institutions na nais magsagawa ng limited face-to-face classes ay kinakailangang kumonsulta sa kanilang local government units.

“Consider it approved. We will just follow the memoranda of CHED,” ayon kay Moreno.

Paalala ng alkalde sa mga opisyal ng UST hindi dapat pwersahin ang mga mag-aaral na ayaw lumahok sa face-to-face classes.

Dumalo sa pulong sina Vice Mayor Ma. Sheilah ‘Honey’ Lacuna-Pangan, UST Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Dr. Cheryl Peralta, UST Faculty of Medicine Dean Dr. Odette Maglinao, UST College of Rehabilitation Sciences Dean Dr. Anne Aseron, at si Justice Jose Abad Santos General Hospital Director Dr. Merle Sacdalan.

Sa nasabing pulong, sinabi ni Moreno na prayoridad din ng LGU ang mga guro sa sandaling dumating na ang bakuna kontra COVID-19.

“Teachers will be included in the first batch for the vaccine. Whether you’re a Manilan or a non-Manilan, as long as you’re working here in Manila, you will be included in the list for vaccine,” ani Moreno.
