Umabot sa 756 na frontline healthcare workers ang nabakunahan sa unang araw ng pag-rollout ng bakuna kontra COVID-19.
Kasunod ito ng pagdating sa bansa ng 600,000 CoronaVac doses mula sa Sinovac sa China.
Sa inilabas na datos ng Department of Health (DOH) 756 na frontline healthcare workers mula sa anim na ospital sa Metro Manila ang tumanggap ng CoronaVac.
Isinagawa ang rollout ng bakuna sa PGH, Tala, Lung Center, Veterans, V. Luna at PNP General Hospital.
“We, at the Department of Health and the vaccine cluster, are grateful to the hospital directors of PGH, Tala, Lung Center, Veterans, V. Luna and PNP General Hospital for taking the lead in this inoculation. We are also thankful to the doctors, medical specialists, and health workers who served as credible exemplars to ordinary Filipinos in trusting the science of vaccines,” ayon kay Health Secretary Francisco T. Duque III.
Umaasa si Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana, na sa pag-uumpisa ng pagbabakuna laban sa COVID-19 ay mapapabilis recovery ng bansa sa pandemya.
Target aniya ng pamahalaan na pagsapit ng 2022 ay COVID-free na ang bansa.
Sa datos mula sa National Vaccine Operations Center 128 ang vaccinees mula sa PGH, 85 mula sa Dr. Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital (TALA), 20 mula sa Lung Center of the Philippines, 110 mula sa Philippine National Police General Hospital, 353 sa Veterans Memorial Medical Center, at 60 sa Victoriano Luna Medical Center.
