MMDA, DPWH, Las Piñas City Mayor Aguilar nag-inspeksiyon sa Tartar Creek sa Brgy. Pamplona Tres at Brgy. Talon Dos
Ininspeksiyon ni Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman Atty. Don Artes kasama sina Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon at Las Piñas City Mayor April Aguilar ang mga resulta ng cleanup drive sa ilalim ng Bayanihan sa Estero program sa Tartar Creek, Barangay Pamplona Tres at Brgy. Talon Dos sa lungsod.
Ang pinagsama-samang hakbang ay bahagi sa nagpapatuloy na mga inisyatibo ng MMDA bilang tugon sa socioeconomic agenda ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. Upang mabawasan ang mga sagabal o harang, pagandahin ang daloy ng tubig, at tuluyanv maibsan ang pagbabaha sa Metro Manila.
Patuloy ang maigting na hakbang ng MMDA na linisin ang mga daluyan ng tubig sa Metro Manila bilang parte ng kanyang flood mitigation initiatives na layuning mapababa ang obstruction,maayos ang daloy sa drainage, at pagbabaha sa tuwing malakas ang ulan.
“It’s good to see the before and after situation of Tartar Creek. The MMDA ensures that waterways are free from debris, garbage, and silt, allowing rainwater to flow more efficiently. This leads to reduced flooding risks, a cleaner environment, and improved health and safety for residents,” paliwanag ni Artes.
Samantala muling nanindigan si DPWH Secretary Dizon na ang ganitong mga proyekto magmula sa drainage systems, pumping stations, flood control structures, at water retention facilities ay kasama sa pangmatagalang istratehiya upang protektahan at suportahan ang kabuuang pag-unlad ng Metro Manila.
“The DPWH will continue to work with MMDA and all LGUs to implement comprehensive and sustainable infrastructure projects designed to significantly reduce flood risks across the region,” sabi ni Dizon.
Personal na ipinaabot ni Las Piñas City Mayor Aguilar ang kanyang pasasalamat sa MMDA sa pagdadala nito ng cleanup operation efforts sa lungsod.
“We deeply appreciate the commitment of MMDA for their invaluable assistance in cleaning our creek and for standing with us in our efforts to build a cleaner, safer, and more resilient city. This initiative not only helps restore the natural flow of our creeks but also reduces the risk of flooding in Las Piñas,” pahayag ni Aguilar.
Namahagi rin ang MMDA ng lily pots at charcoal briquettes na gawa ng prinosesong water hyacinths na nakolekta naman sa kasagsagan ng operasyon. (Bhelle Gamboa)
