Muling pagbubukas sa “Barayuga murder case” iniutos ng PNP

Ipinag-utos ng Philippine National Police (PNP) ang muling pagbubukas ng kaso ng pagpatay sa retiradong heneral at dating executive ng Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) na si Wesley Barayuga.

Ginawa ni PNP Chief, Police General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil ang direktiba kasunod ng bagong testimonya sa pagdinig sa Kamara hinggil sa pagpatay kay Barayuga noong 2019.

Sa pagdinig ng House Quad Committee noong September 27, tumestigo si Police Lieutenant Colonel Santie Mendoza at sinabing initusan siya ni National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) Commissioner Edilberto Leonardo at dating PCSO General Manager Royina Garma para patayin si Barayuga.

Sinabi ni Mendoza na ang dalawang nabanggit na opisyal ang utak ng pagpatay sa dating PCSO executive.

Si Garma umano ang nagbigay ng intelligence para maisakatuparan ang operasyon at pinalabas na si Barayuga ay isang high-value individual at sangkot sa illegal drug activities.

“This revelation demands a thorough reinvestigation of the murder. No one is above the law, and we will seek justice for Ret. Gen. Wesley Barayuga and his family with the full resources of the PNP,” ayon kay Marbil.

Ang Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) ang inatasan ni Marbil para pamunuan ang reinvestigation sa kasio.

Ayon sa PNP chief, mahalagang mapag-aralan ang mga bagong ebidensya at testimonya.

“We are committed to uncovering the truth, regardless of the position or power of those involved. The public can rest assured that we will hold those responsible accountable,” dagdag pa ni Marbil. (DDC)
