Malakanyang iniutos ang pag-kansela sa pasaporte ni Alice Guo

Inatasan na ng Palasyo ng Malakanyang ang Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) na kanselahin na ang Philippine passport ni dismissed mayor Alice Guo ng Bamban, Tarlac at ng kanyang pamilya.

Base sa memorandum ni Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin na may petsang Agosto 20, 2024, inaatasan ang DFA at Department of Justice na kansalehin na ang pasaporte ni Guo.

Nakasaad sa memo na malinaw na nakalabas na ng bansa si Guo na kilala rin na Chinese national na Guo Hua Ping na nagtungo sa Malaysia, Singapore para makipagkita sa pamilya at kalaunan ay nagtungo sa Indonesia.

Bukod dito, may warrant of arrest na rin ang Senado laban kay guo at sa kanyang pamilya dahil sa hindi pagsipot sa imbestigasyon ukol sa illegal na operasyon ng Philippine Offshore gaming Operators (POGO).

Sabi pa ng memo, na-cite in contempt na rin ng Kamara si Cassandra Ong na isa sa mga nakipagkita kay Guo sa Singapore dahil sa hindi naman pagsipot sa imbestigasyon.

“Under Republic Act No. 11983, also known as the “New Philippine Passport Act”, the DFA Secretary may cancel a passport in the interest of national security. Under the same law, one of the grounds for the cancellation of a Philippine passport is when the court issues an order for its cancellation as the holder is a fugitive from justice,” saad ng memo.

“Given the foregoing and in the interest of justice, this Office hereby directs the appropriate action be taken for the cancellation of the Philippine passports of Guo, her family, and Ong,” saad ng memo.

Pinakakansela ng Malakanyang ang passport ng mga sumusunod:

· Guo, Alice Leal na may passport number na P5469205B na may expiration date na September 3, 2030

· Guo Wesley Leal na may passport number na P3953869C na may expiration date na April 25, 2035

· Guo, Sheila Leal na may passport number na P0414405C na may expiration date na June 6, 2032

· Ong, Katherine Cassandra Li na may passport number na P7671640A na may expiration date na June 25, 2028 (CY)
