Pangulong Marcos magkakaroon ng pulong kay Secretary of State Anthony Blinken

Kinumpirma ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. na may nakatakda siyang pagpupulong sa Martes kay US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.

Sa press conference sa Berlin, Germany, sinabi ni Pangulong Marcos na pag-uusapan nila ni Blinken ang security at cooperation matters.

“Well, of course, we hope the intention is to continue to plan, to strengthen the cooperation between the three countries—the United States, Japan, and the Philippines. And we will perhaps formalize it but we, at this point, we are still…that’s part of the discussion that we will be having to exactly what will be put in any agreement,” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.

“It is probably just formalizing what we are already doing, which will put a bit more structure to what we will do as a interoperability and the actual joint cruises that we are having,” dagdag ni Pangulong Marcos.

Ayon kay Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo, darating sa bansa si Blinken March 18.

Hindi naman makumpirma ni Manalo kung makadadalo si Japan Foreign Minister Yoko Kamikawa sa.pulong nina Pangulong Marcos at Blinken.

Kasabay nito, tiniyak ni Pangulong Marcos na didepensahan ang teritoryo ng Pilipinas matapos ihayag ni Chinese President Xi Jinping na pinaghahanda niya ang armed forces ng China para sa to military conflicts sa karagatan.

“Well, frankly, I don’t think there’s anything new there,” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.

“So, I’m not surprised, but we will have to continue to do what we can to defend our maritime territory in the face of perhaps a more active attempt by the Chinese to annex some of our territory,” dagdag ng Pangulo. (DDC)
