Guidelines para sa paggamit ng Philippine Tropical Fabrics sa uniporme ng mga empleyado ng gobyerno ilalabas ng CSC

Nakatakdang magpalabas ng guidelines ang Civil Service Commission (CSC) para iutos ang paggamit ng Philippine Tropical Fabrics (PTF) sa mga uniporme na ginagamit ng mga empleyado ng gobyerno.

Ang PTF ay gawa sa natural textile fibers mula sa pinya, abaca, saging, at Philippine silk.

Ayon sa CSC, ngayong buwan ay ilalabas ng ahensya ang amended Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) para sa Republic Act (R.A.) No. 9242, o ang Philippine Tropical Fabrics (PTF) Law.

Sa ilalim ng nasabing batas ay itinatakda ang paggamit ng PTF para sa official uniforms ng mga government officials at employees.

Expected to attend are officials and representatives of the PTF Inter-Agency Technical Working Group (TWG) composed of the Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI), the Department of Agriculture-Philippine Fiber Industry Development Authority (DA-PhilFIDA), and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). Senator Loren B. Legarda, the principal author of the law, shall deliver a message of support.

Ayon kay CSC Chairperson Karlo Nograles, layunin nitong mai-promote at masuportahan ang local textile industry sa bansa.

Taong 2004 pa ng malagdaan ang PTF Law.

Sa nasabing batas, exempted naman sa paggamit ng PTF para sa kanilang uniporme ang mga bumbero at mga empleyado ng gobyerno na gumagamit ng bulletproof vests at iba pa.

Sinabi ni Nograles na nabinbin ang full implementation ng batas dahil sa ilang hamon at problema gaya na lamang ng kakulangan ng suplay. (DDC)
