Case build nagpapatuloy laban sa suspected narco cops; pagsasampa ng mga kaso kahit nagretiro tuloy – Abalos
Binalaan ni Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benjamin “Benhur” Abalos, Jr. ang mga tinaguriang narco-cops na hindi sila maisasalba ng kanilang retirement o pagreretiro sa serbisyo mula sa imbestigasyon at pagsasampa ng mga kaso.
Ayon kay Abalos na ang 5-man Advisory Group at ng Napolcom ay gagabayan ng kanilang mga hawak na mga ebidensiya.
“The process does not end upon the acceptance of courtesy resignation. As I previously stated, even if a police official is allowed to retire for the time being, the monitoring and investigation must continue, to gather evidence that may lead to eventual criminal prosecution.We must always act within the rule of law. As a lawyer, I want to make sure that cases filed shall succeed and can withstand court litigation,” ayon kay Abalos.
Sinabi ng DILG chief na hindi ibig sabihin na kapag nagretiro na ang mga pulis na sangkot sa ilegal na droga ay makakalusot na at iginiit nitong gagawa ang kagawaran ng solidong mga kaso laban sa mga ito at kakasuhan batay sa mga ebidensiya.
“Huwag nilang akalain na kapag nagretire na sila ay lusot na sila. Hindi po. Tuloy-tuloy ang monitoring, tuloy-tuloy ang case build up sa kanila. The long arm of the law is bound to get them,” diin pa ni Abalos. (Bhelle Gamboa)
