LGUs pinagsasagawa ng information drive kaugnay sa SIM card registration

Hinikayat ng Department of the Interior and Local Givernment (DILG) na magsagawa ng information drive kaugnay sa SIM card registration.

Ito ay para mabigyan ng sapat na kaalaman ang kani-kanilang nasasakupan hinggil sa naisabatas na Republic Act No. 11934 o Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) Registration Act.

Simula kasi sa December 27 ay kailangan nang iparehistro ang SIM cards.

Ayon kay DILG Secretary Benjamin ‘Benhur’ Abalos, Jr. dahil milyung-milyong Filipino ang mobile subscribers, kinakailangan ng intensive information drive para maimpormahan ang publiko.

“As we seek to ensure public safety even in the online space, I encourage LGUs to exert all efforts to promote responsible use of SIM cards, educate their stakeholders on the benefits of mandatory SIM card registration and guide them through the whole registration process,” ayon kay Abalos.

Ani Abalos malaking tulong ang SIM Registration Act sa Philippine National Police (PNP) at iba pang law enforcement authorities sa kampanya laban sa electronic communication-aided criminal activities sa bansa gaya ng mobile phishing, text spams, online scams, bank frauds at identity theft. (DDC)
