Bagong mall operating hours sa Metro Manila sisimulan sa susunod na linggo
Bilang paghahanda sa holiday season, nagkasundo ang Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) at mall owners at operators sa Metro Manila na i-adjust ang mall operations simula sa Nov. 14, 2022 hanggang sa Jan. 6, 2023.
Matapos ang isinagawang consultative meeting sa MMDA New Building sa Pasig City, napagkasunduan na sa nasabing mga petsa, ang mall hours sa NCR ay gagawing alas-11:00 ng umaga hanggang 11:00 ng gabi.
Sinabi ni MMDA Acting Chairman Atty. Romando Artes na hiniling ng ahensya sa mga mall operators na mag-adjust ng kanilang mall hours dahil sa inaasahang matinding trapik sa panahon ng Christmas season.
“Starting November 14, malls in NCR will operate from 11am to 11pm instead of their usual operating hours. We have to implement remedial measures to reduce traffic congestion,” sabi ni Artes.
Kasama din sa napagkasunduan na gawing weekend lamang ang pagsasagawa ng mall wide sales.
“Mall wide sales will be only allowed during weekends. Also, deliveries will be during 11pm to 5am only. Exempted from the regulation are deliveries of perishable goods, restaurants serving breakfast, and groceries,” pahayag pa nito.
Idinagdag pa ni Artes na ang mga shopping mall operator ay dapat magsumite ng kani-kanilang traffic management plans at ilagay ang mall sales at promotional events , dalawang linggo bago ang iskedyul ng mga nasabing kaganapan.
“We will make a further study on their traffic management plan. We will deploy necessary number of traffic enforcers to man the traffic,” diin nito.
May posibilidad din aniya sa pagbawi sa mall operating hours restrictions nang mas maaga ng Enero 6,2023 depende sa sitwasyon ng trapiko pagkatapos ng Pasko.
“We will observe the traffic situation in the metropolis on December 26. If the traffic is normal and manageable, we will immediately lift the restrictions and announce it to the public,” ani Artes.
Dumalo sa pulong kabilang ang mga kinatawan ng SM Malls, Robinson’s, Araneta Center, Greenhills Shopping Center, Ortigas Shopping Center, at Trinoma Vertis.
Samantala inanunsyo ni Artes ang pansamantalang suspensiyon ng lahat ng excavation activities o paghuhukay sa mga pangunahing kalsada sa Metro Manila epektibo ng hatinggabi ng Nobyembre 14 hanggang hatinggabi naman ng Enero 6,2023 kasama na rito ang road reblocking works, pipe laying, road upgrading, at lahat ng ibang excavation works.
Ang mga proyekto na hindi sakop o saklaw nito ay ang mga sumusunod:
• Flagship projects ng gobyerno
• DPWH bridge repair/construction;
• Flood interceptor catchment project (box culvert);
• Asphalt overlay projects without reblocking works;
• Sidewalk improvement;
• Drainage improvement projects sa sidewalk at hindi naookupahan ang anumang bahagi ng daanan ng kalsada;
• Footbridge projects;
• Emergency leak repair o breakage of water line ng Manila Water at Maynilad Water Services;
• Project na gumagamit ng trenchless o horizontal directional drilling method;
• New water service o electrical service connections;
• Road activities na walang excavation (traffic clearance only);
• Traffic signalization projects;
• Meralco relocation works na nakakaapekto sa mga major projects ng gobyerno. (Bhelle Gamboa)
