P31.5M na halaga ng mga hindi rehistradong health products nakumpiska sa Sta. Cruz, Maynila

Nakumpiska ng mga tauhan ng Bureau of Customs (BOC) – Intelligence and Investigation Service-Intellectual Property Rights Division (CIIS-IPRD) ang tinatayang P31.5 million na halaga ng mga peke at hindi rehistradong health products.

Dalawang operasyon ang ikinasa ng BOC sa Santa Cruz, Manila sa bisa ng Letters of Authority (LOA) na inisyu ni Customs Commissioner Rey Leonardo B. Guerrero para mainspeksyon ang warehouse sa Ongpin Street at Fernandez Street.

Kabilang sa mga medical at cosmetic products na nakita sa nasabing mga warehouse ay ang may mga brand ng Lianhua Lung Cleansing Tea, Healthy Brain Pills, Gluta Lipo, Lidan Tablets, Nin Jiom Pei Pa Koa, Vita herbs at iba pang Chinese brands.

Magsasagawa ng imbestigasyon ang BOC sa posibleng paglabag sa Customs Modernization and Tariff Act Republic Act (R.A. no. 10863), Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines (R.A. 8293), at Food and Drug Administration Act (R.A. 9711). (DDC)
