AFP may bagong Attack Helicopters at C-295 aircraft

Natanggap na ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) ang dalawang bagong T-129 “ATAK” Helicopters galing Turkey at isang C-295 Medium Lift Aircraft na galing naman ng Spain.

Ginanap ang joint turn-over and blessing ceremony sa mga bagong biling air assets sa 250th Presidential Airlift Wing Hangar sa Villamor Airbase, Pasay City.

Pinangunahan nina Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana, Lieutenant General Erickson Gloria, AFP Vice Chief of Staff at Lieutenant General Connor Anthony Canlas, Philippine Air Force (PAF) Commanding General ang seremonya

Ang dalawang ATAK Helicopters ay hahagi ng 6-unit acquisition ng Air Force sa Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) sa ilalim ng AFP Modernization Plan.

Ang dalawang helicopter ay twin-engine, multi-role, at all-weather na idinesenyo para sa advanced attack at reconnaissance missions.
Ang C-295 aircraft naman ay bahagi ng first batch ng deliveries mula sa Airbus Defense and Space (ADS) ng Spain.

Gagamitin ito sa pagbiyahe ng mga personnel at equipment gayundin sa disaster relief at humanitarian assistance operations ng AFP. (DDC)
